Kubermatic Kubernetes Platform Accelerator
Overview
Take the Kubermatic Kubernetes Platform (KKP) to production. We build a hardened, highly available KKP Enterprise Edition platform on your public cloud, vSphere, OpenStack or bare metal and onboard one of your own applications onto it. Stage 1 builds and validates the platform; after a go/no-go gate, Stage 2 makes it production-ready. Everything is deployed from Git-managed configuration, so any redeployment is a documented re-run.
Goal
A production-ready KKP environment your platform team operates independently, with your first application running and a repeatable path for the next.
Who it is for
Platform teams that have chosen KKP, or completed a Proof of Value, and need to run Kubernetes as an internal service for multiple teams.
Content
Stage 1: Build and validate
- 01
Explore
Architecture alignment, sizing and frozen success criteria.
- 02
Deploy
HA KubeOne cluster and KKP with identity, storage and registry integration.
- 03
Enablement
Training, runbooks and handover.
- 04
Testing
Validation against your criteria with a reference workload.
- 05
Touchdown
Results, gap list and the Stage 2 go/no-go.
Stage 2: Production readiness
- 06
Production architecture
Topology, sizing, tenant model and cluster templates.
- 07
Deployment and hardening
HA KKP Enterprise Edition against our production checklist.
- 08
Observability and backup
Prometheus, Grafana, Loki and Velero with a tested restore.
- 09
Application onboarding
Your reference application, plus a full upgrade cycle with it running.
- 10
Operational readiness
Documentation, enablement and go-live review.
Typical Activities
- HA topology, capacity and failure-domain design
- Tenant model: projects, RBAC, credentials, quotas and offboarding
- Integration with production identity, certificates, DNS and registry
- Alerting setup and Velero backups with a restore test
- Cluster create/delete campaign to prove stability and clean teardown
- Platform-side onboarding of your application: namespaces, storage, ingress, secrets, telemetry, CI/CD hand-off
- Full KKP and Kubernetes upgrade cycle
- Enablement on administration, lifecycle, observability and incident handling

Prerequisites
Before the start
- Infrastructure access and quotas
- KubeOne machines with SSH access
- DNS, load balancers and firewall rules
- VPN or jump host access
- A shared Git repository
- A named project manager and technical counterpart
Before Stage 2
- A written go decision
- A KKP Enterprise Edition subscription
- Production identity, certificates and DNS
- A backup target for Velero
- A reference application with images in a reachable registry
Why this Accelerator?
- Production-grade from day one: HA, hardening, observability and tested restores are part of the build.
- Proven on your own application, not just a demo.
- Reproducible by design: the next environment is a documented re-run.
- Day-2 tested before go-live: upgrade, restore and teardown are proven up front.
- A built-in decision gate before Stage 2 begins.
- Your team owns it, with the docs and skills to run and grow the platform.
What's not included
Your application code and behaviour, onboarding beyond one application, 24/7 operations, multi-site rollouts, physical infrastructure and custom development. The KKP subscription is contracted separately.
Optional extensions
Multi-region rollout, KubeLB, Kubermatic Virtualization (KubeVirt), AI Kit with GPU node pools, additional application onboarding, managed 24/7 operations, and certification audit support.
